What's included in your BC fishing charter

Outfitting Essentials

We provide lifejackets, fishing rods, tackle, bait, fuel, and drinking water for your BC fishing trip.

Your Catch

Cleaning and bagging your catch is included in your fishing charter. If you want to have your fish processed (filleted, steaked, smoked, etc.), we refer you to licenced local seafood processors. They are also able to package and ship your catch.

What to bring on your Campbell River fishing trip

You MUST bring a printed copy of your fishing licence onboard. If you want to keep salmon, your printed licence must also have the Salmon Conservation Stamp. The Salmon Conservation Stamp may be added to your licence at time of purchase for a nominal fee. Licence cost varies depending on age and whether or not you’re a Canadian resident.   Buy your licence online.

Frequently Asked Questions

The easiest way to get your fishing license for your Campbell River fishing charter is to follow the steps listed here and then print out your licence. Be sure to get the Salmon Conservation Stamp ($6) on your licence if you intend to keep fish. You have to bring your licence with you on the boat.

Yes, subject to the limits set out in your fishing licence (you’re allowed to retain a limited daily catch and have a fixed number of fish in your possession for your trip) and whether there are federally imposed restrictions in effect at the time. You must have a Salmon Conservation Stamp on your licence in order to retain salmon.

No. You can continue fishing, but you have to release any caught fish that exceed your limit. If you haven’t reached your limit, you still have the option to release fish to give them a chance to spawn.

Yes. Cleaning and bagging your catch is complimentary, but further processing (and shipping) will be done by a licenced seafood processer with local drop off locations, who can portion and treat your catch according to your wishes.

The processor will be able to arrange for the proper packing and shipping of your catch. You can also transport your catch yourself, but be sure to follow the applicable rules and regulations, some of which can be found on this government website.

On your BC fishing charter you’ll want to bring your fishing licence, warm and layered clothing, appropriate rain gear, sunglasses, sunscreen, lunch, snacks, and drinks to last you for the trip.

Our boat can accommodate groups of up to six people. A group of three or four adults is optimal for fishing, as this gives everyone more room and more rod time. If you have a large group that requires multiple boats, contact us – we’ll make the appropriate arrangements.

Absolutely. As a simple example, if you want to fish for half a day and go exploring for marine wildlife during the second half, we’re happy to accommodate. You might want to pick up friends along the way, or stop dockside for a warm lunch. You may want your itinerary to cover multiple days and locations. Whatever it is, we’ll find a way to make you happy.

Children are more than welcome when accompanied by an adult, and we’ll make every effort to ensure their experience is one they won’t forget. If you wish to bring children, please let us know in advance so we can plan accordingly, including making sure there are children’s lifejackets onboard.
